Great day in Tower Gardens, a number of dance acts performed including the Sleaford Boys and Janice Sutton group, also a play set in a dance all during WWII went down very well, I was situated in the information tent most of the day and folks were really enjoying it.

yes martyn I actually did it, went to chip pan alley today to the shop that used to be the computer place and got black t/shirt with the word VANMAN on the back and front in silver letters and wore it tonight whilst watching that amazing performance, the whole family enjoyed it. we stood outside the lifeboat house to watch it. I will be wearing it again tomorrow night for the next show and will be stood more or less outside lucky strikes to watch the sea creatures float by

Was really good last night. Very impressed, even though the drumming got a bit repetative after a while.
And I'm very certain I saw you Paul, standing up on your mobility scooter, taking pics? I was stuffing me face at the time, but went back to say hi but you'd gone! And by then the crowds were getting huge.
And what was with that random projection on Lucky Strike all about?
Also must have bumped into vanman without noticing his t-shirt, we were hovering around that end, though when the crane moved, we kind of moved with it, to get some pics.
All in all, it was great, a bit short though, especially when you think of just how many people turned up to see it. Which was something I didn't expect to see, yes it is now the holidays, but it was like the first day of the hols yesterday, no way did I expect to see so many people turn up last night.
I get the feeling it will be even busier tonight. Lucky Strike balcony me thinks....
(Oh, and now I get why Imp's going on about the pond.... )

What a magnificent SO day it was yesterday. What a success this is turning out to be.
My wife and daughter spent the whole afternoon being royally entertained in the Tower Gardens. Then, after a lovely fish and chips in Tony Chippy, my family and I went to BBC Introduces at the Embassy. 5 music acts, 3 bands and 2 solo artistes, provided great music for 2 hours. My favourites were Lounge Crusade, closely followed by Lost Souls. Then, after an nice cooling pint, we went to see Trans Express. What a spectacle. Absolutely fantastic. French eccentric with bells on. Breath-taking. Several thousand watching it in my estimation probably between 3 and 4,000.
And do you know what. All of the above, minus the food and drink, was completely free.
In my opinion all of the knockers of this festival have been proven completely incorrect. It is excellent.
Great to see Skeggy47 again and have a chat and delighted to have met KK and Mrs S47.

Yeah I totally agree, it is brilliant.
As much as I love to see some good old fashioned fireworks for the switch on, seeing all this different stuff is just amazing. How often do you get to see performers hanging off of a huge crane? This festival really is breaking Skegness away from all the other resorts.
I'm really looking forward to tonight now.
