Why isn't though? There have been raves held at Ingoldmells since the mid 90's.

That is as maybe, but as I have stated previously in this topic, raves have always been associated with drug taking. Now, whether or not that is still the case these days, I do not know, but it is an inescapable fact that raves have gained a reputaion for being the place where you can get drugs a plenty and in particular 'ecstacy'.
Ingoldmells, although a small residential village for the best part of the year, has also become known as a 'family seaside resort' which attracts thousands of tourists annually. Many having their own holiday accomodation in and around the Village. The vast majority of these tourists are families, many with young children.
Would you like your kids to be 'holidaying' in an area where there could be instances of high drug-taking, where your kids might come face-to-face with someone who is high on god only knows what? I certainly would not and I would certainly keep my family well away from a beach that could be dominated by drug crazed youths getting up to god only knows what.
I'm not saying that raves in general should be banned, but they should not be held in places like Ingoldmells. Far better to hold them in somewhere like an old aircraft hanger somewhere inland and well away from everyone else. If 'ravers' want to get 'high' on drugs listening to loud insane 'techno' music or whatever it is they 'dance' to, by all means let them do it but not in a place that has now become somewhere families like to go to with their kids to have fun at the seaside.

I do see what you're saying, but the last couple of events that were held at Fantasy Island were professionally organised events. Now I cant say that is the case for this event at Joes, but the organised events are on the whole, ok. Its the illegal raves where all the 'illegal' activities (drug dealing etc) tend take place.

We might be getting older (and wiser) and the changes that are taking place are not to our liking, perhaps it is time for Ingoldmells to let the youth have their time at the wheel. I can see that bars such as Joes etc are aimed at that market and can see a profitable outcome. In a recent post i was detailing how drinking habits had changed, perhaps the "older or family" unit no longer is willing to go out at 8 and spend some hard earned pounds in say the Oasis or Four Winds Tavern Etc - they are quite happy to sit in the caravan and watch a film or make their own entertainment, The rave etc and the emphasis on the young is probably the only viable way forward for the area..... However then downside to this is the regular caravan owner / Visitor - I have had two stints on the sunnymede caravan site one was pre running water! and the last was a three year stint that we terminated last September. I was much happier with the first stint at sunnymede the area was much quieter and still found lots and lots to do, however i was foolish to return to the same site years later. The change was vast, even though we enjoyed many weekends there, the emphasis was not for traditional family values but for a "Chav" culture Buddies blares music out that loud that you can sing along to it in the caravan, the waltzers bass made the caravan jump, you can hear the music from joes bar right down to the bell, crime was higher, devil dogs with their tracksuited owners - complete with gold chains swanned around the market and seafront, the market ballooned and every stall sells just about the same old Tack, fake cd sellers and fake cigarette sellers had their own covert operations, the walks on the seafront were manageable but get off the beaten track and you cannot look up in fear of treading in something nasty! I know i am getting older but i really do love the area, i would go back but i would never have a static in the ingoldmells area. I cannot see how the council has failed to get to grips with this area there must be a tourism stratedgy, if this decline continues then i,m afraid the area will continue to get a bad name... but as i said in a post earlier the rise of ingoldmells saw the decline of Skegness town - now i see the pattern reversing i see the rise of Skegness again in all its splendour and the decline of ingoldmells . Is this planned ?????

Organised or not, you cannot rule out the possibility that drug taking will be taking place, or that drug dealing is going on somewhere during the rave.
As I say, raves and drugs go together, like a beer and a cigarette used to in Pubs before the ban.
I assume that 'ravers' need the drugs to feel the full effect of the music and the lights, so unless the raves planned for Joe's Beach Bar are not really raves in the full sense of the word, then there will be some drug taking going on at some point, whether or not the rave is properly organised and 'policed'.

this 'rave' seems to me to be a glorified pee up on the beach, the previous rave organised by fantasy island happened at night (when all raves do) and carried on til early hours. Joes is just a daytime pee up on the beach under the guise of a rave, they say they have 20 world famous DJ's which surprises me as most DJ's (big names) would have been booked up years in advance, and all worth their salt would be in Ibiza or AyA Naipa not in Ingoldmells on saturday morning

Unfortunately it appears that our stay in an Ingoldmells caravan (already booked) coincides with the 'all day/two day rave at Joe's beach bar'.
Honestly, I do feel slightly annoyed that as a young family we will have no option but to avoid the area completely on the affected days...
I won't be losing any sleep over this or whingeing incessantly, if this is the way the resort is going then so be it - there are other places to be on these days...
Note to Self: Check whether there are any raves planned for holiday dates before booking next year.

I think we can be a little reassured by the Police figures relating to the latest rave at Fantasy Island a few weeks ago.
Between 10pm on the Saturday and 7am on the Sunday, one incident required a Police response at the rave and two arrests were made. The estimated attendance was 3,000.
I requested these statistics in order to add some clarity to the speculation. To me at least, they suggest there is far less trouble at raves than people may think.
By comparison, at a 90s reunion at Butlins this year there were three incidents and three arrests. Given that there were probably twice the number of people at the Butlins event, I think these figures are quite comparable really.

On a sidenote, is it just me or does Joe's Beach Bar need a dedicated website? (I'm led to believe that they are relatively cheap & easy to get setup & hosted etc.)
If one exists, it isn't presenting itself easily or is all their promotion etc. done via a certain social media/networking website?

As we arrive on the 9th I think we`ll arrange to be elsewhere than Ingoldmells that weekend. Luckily we are staying at Skegness Water Leisure Park, which I am hoping is far enough away from Joe`s Bar so we aren`t bothered too much
