I was trying to work out what this Car Ferry is doing chugging past my house when Internet searches tell me it's supposed to be a Dover to Calais Car ferry!

You need to remove the [/url] off the end:

No I think it's just because a stray space appeared between the first URL tag and the address itself, which has led the forum to ignore the tag, but it has still turned the address into a link by default - including the closing URL tag, which is the bit that was throwing it out as browsers will try to find an address with those letters and not be able to.
